During his training at Bedfordhe proved himself so efficient in signalling thathe was transferred to the 51st (Highland Divi-sional) Signal Company, In April 1915he went with his Company to France, and a fewweeks later, on 27 May 1915, he died of woundsreceived in action at Vieille Chappelle.
