A pilot and crew chief conduct a pre-flight inspection on an A-10 Thunderbolt II aircraft outside a hardened aircraft shelter at Spangdahlem Air Base, Germany, before leaving for Exercise Dacian Thunder on July 6, 2012. The 81st Fighter Squadron, along with members of the Romanian air force, are working together during the exercise to practice close-air support and combat search and rescue techniques.
