Calle Mallorca is seen between the Temple of the Sagrada Familia (R) and the housing blocks (L) that should be demolished to carry out the extension project of the Gloria façade. This week the religious authorities of the Sagrada Familia temple have asked the Vatican for theological validation of the project to expand the Gloria façade. In order to carry out this new phase of the works, it would be necessary to expropriate and demolish several housing blocks that would affect some 1,000 resident neighbours in order to deploy the monumental stairs for the new access to the basilica.
