Many people inside the new Library of Birmingham that was officially opened on 3rd September 2013 by Malala Yousafzai, the teenager shot in the head in Pakistan by the Taliban for championing women's rights. The Library cost £189m and houses around one million books. It has more than 200 public access computers, theatres, an exhibition gallery and music rooms over 9 floors. There is also a roof garden made from the rubble of construction with a wild flower meadow. The building also contains the Shakespeare Memorial Room
