Plate commemorating the Appeal of 18 June (French: L'Appel du 18 juin) was the first speech made by Charles de Gaulle after his arrival in London in 1940 following the Battle of France. The plate is installed under the Triumphal Arch that commemorates the French Revolution, the Napoleonic Wars and WW 1. Arc de Triomphe stands at the center of the Place Charles de Gaulle, also known as the “Place de l’Étoile”
