It has been recorded from five counties: Ellis, Morton, Finney, Kearny, and Douglas. Despite specula- tion that it might breed in southwestern Kansas, there is no evidence to substantiate this; with the increased number of birdwatchers frequenting the area, it surely would have been found were it breeding.
