Head and thorax grey mixed with black-brown ; abdomen grey suffused with brown ; pectus and ventral surface of abdomen white. Fore wing purplish grey suffused with brown in parts especially below the cell and irrorated with black, the terminal area irrorated with white ; a broad silvery white fascia from base of costa extending through the cell and just below it to postmedial line, the submediau interspace tinged with sap-green to post- medial line ; a minute black point in middle of ceil; postmedial line black, bent outwards below costa and between veins 6 and 5, at vein 3 angled inwards to origin of vein 2, then outwards just above vein 1 and inwards above inner margin to middle; sub- terminal line white slightly defined on inner side by black, oblique towards costa, bent inwards at vein 3 and ending at tornus ; a terminal series of black striae defined on inner side by whits. Hind wing grey suffused with purple-brown ; cilia white at tips ; the underside whitish, the costa and termen tinged with brown. Hub. Fr. Guiana, Nouveau Chantier (Le Moult), 1 $ type. 32 millim. Fore wing of male witli fringe of short hair from subcostal nervure on underside, the cell almost entirely filled by a large patch of andro- conia; hind wing with fringe of long hair below basal half of costa on upperside, the termen strongly excised between veins 6 and 3. *6G91.
