A bevor, German, presumably Brunswick, circa 1550 A bevor, forged in one piece with a heavy, slightly ridged breastplate. There are two rectangular holes in the centre to attach it to the breastplate of the armour. The chin guard is strongly ridged and comes to a point with turned under and corded edges. It is surrounded by lining rivets (incomplete) under the rim , with a triple line of decorative engraving below it. It is sprung between chin guard and breastplate.
