The Theatre Feydeau


The view taken in 1828, shows the Theatre Feydeau which began as the Theatre de Monsieur and opened with La Nozze di Dorina and became the favoured opera house of Paris. During the Revolution it became Theatre de l’Opera Comique National. It is built in the style of Minerva Polias with many columns and is superbly decorated. The image was drawn by T T Bury under the direction of A Pugin and engraved by Elizabeth Byrne
