St Martin-in-the-Fields, Trafalgar Square, London. Church designed by James Gibbs 1720, completed 1726 in the English Baroque style. The nave, with pews (introduced in 1799) and galleries, is dominated by Artari and Bagutti's plasterwork ceiling. Above the new east window installed in 2008. This is by the Iranian artist Shirazeh Houshiary: her design uses clear glass within a lattice of curvilinear glazing bars, subtly distorted to suggest a cross with an oval at its centre.
