Hog Sphinx aka Virginia Creeper Sphinx (Darapsa myron). Adult resting on leaf. The larva of this species feeds on grape, virginia creeper and ampelopsis. This speces ranges from southern Canada to Florida and west to Texas. Hog Sphinx are common wherever the food plants are found. This larva was photographed in September in Pennsylvania.
