Grampus Stearnsii, Dall. The average length of the Whiteheadcd or Mottled Grampus may be ten muzzle terminates in a rounded point, and very nearly resembles that of thePhocana vomerbia. Its dorsal fin is narrow, quite high, and slightly falcated ; hencethe animal is sometimes taken for the Orca ater, and its general appearance andmovements through the water are very similar to those of that animal.
