A heavy short double-barrelled gun, Schlegelmilch in Oedenburg/Hungary, circa 1830. Heavy, side-by-side Damascus barrels with smooth bores in 17 mm calibre. A gold-inlaid signature on the sighting flat. Beneath the barrels a latched folding bayonet with a broad ridged blade. The lock plates have gold inlay and engraved oak leaves. Beautifully carved walnut half stock. Brass furniture with richly profiled oak leaf decoration. The trigger guard has the intertwined cipher "GL".
