Weißer Turm is part of the city's 12th-century fortifications - attached to the "Judentanzhaus" ("Jewish Dancing Hall"), a salmoncolored, half-timbered building which was Rothenburg's Jewish Community Centre from 1390 to 1520. It was destroyed during World War II and faithfully reconstructed in 1953.
