Magdalen Hill Down is a nature reserve managed by Butterfly Conservation just outside Winchester in Hampshire, UK. The chalk pit feature supports a colony of small blue butterflies (Cupido minimus), and is managed to allow growth of the larval foodplant, kidney vetch (Anthyllis vulneraria). Other wildflowers including bird's foot trefoil (Lotus corniculatus) provide nectar sources.
