Cojímar, a sea/ fishing village, some 12 kms east of Havnna in Cuba and 18kms from Ernest Hemingway’s home, ‘Finca La Vigia’, in San Francisco de Paula, southeast of Havana city centre in Cuba. Cojimar was where Ernest Hemingway kept his boat, ‘Pilar’ and went on many sea fishing trips, for Marlin and Swordfish. Both the village and the sea were an inspiration for Ernest Hemingway’s book, ‘The Old Man and the Sea’.
