A train of empty waggons reverses into the sidings at Arcow Quarry, Helwith Bridge on the Settle-Carlisle railway line, where the waggons are loaded.

New sidings for rail transport were installed at Arcow quarry, Helwith Bridge in 2016, enabling a reduction of road transport. The original rail sidings to the quarry had been removed in the 1960s when there was a move to road transport. However, the volume of road traffic has caused environmental concerns prompting the Yorkshire Dales National Park authority to negotiate the new rail connection. The photo shows a Class 66 locomotive hauling a stone train.
