KI/ONDYKE.— A very popular medium earlymarket lierry from Klondyke lias been quite extensively planted forthe last year or two both North and South. Hundredsof acres of this variety have been planted in this sec-tion for the Northern markets. The plants are onlymedium in size, but fairly productive. Like Gandy. itproduces some pistillate blossoms early in the fruit is large, obtusely conical, smooth, red. firmand of good quality. A grower in Mississippi says :I have 50 acres of this variety alone, and it leads allthe others as a sreat market berry. Here large growersespecially are making extensi\e plantings of this va-riety and it seems to l)e giving satisfaction makes a good crop of well-colored, firm, large ber-ries, such as ship well and bring the top of the A fine grower, being no trouble to get a goodstand, and. in fact, should be thinned
