Larry Veale, a gas free technician, inspects this inside of a jet propulsion fuel tank capable of holding 6 million gallons of JP-8 fuel at Travis Air Force Base, Cali. JP-8 is the fuel source for all three Travis aircraft -- the C-5 Galaxy, C-17 Globemaster III and KC-10 Extender. The large capacity tank is one of three at Travis AFB that help reduce the transport of fuel with a 96 percent reduction in the environmental pipeline footprint.
