This air chamberis built of brick and contains the high tension wires which aremounted on porcelain insulators held in place by iron bracketsbuilt into the wall. The entire engine room is spanned by a travel-ing crane built by the Case ManufacturiTig Co., of Columbus, one side of the transformer room there is an engineers office11J ft. square, provided with a toilet room. The management of the company favors theuse of steam driven auxiliaries for the reason that they involveless complications in the wiring of the power house, are less liableto derangement in case of trouble with the electrical machinery,and further, for the reason that the exciters may be utilized forproviding lighting for the building at times when the rest of tliestation is shut down. The exciters are six-pole machines running
