Anglican Priest wearing an Amnesty International pin and a red carnation before a anti-death penalty demonstration in California. More than 400 Amnesty International members and Californians against the death penalty carried 221 cardboard coffins, draped in black, from Crissy Field in San Francisco, CA across the Golden Gate Bridge into Marin County. Marin County is the location of the state’s oldest prison, San Quentin, which houses California’s only death row for male inmates. In 2010 California became the state with the most prisoners on death row at over 700. Photo by Chuck Nacke
