Borssele Nuclear Power Station, Plant, shore of the Westerschelde, Western Scheldt, estuary. Netherlands Holland Dutch. Windfarm

Dutch Nuclear Power Station in Borssele in low hanging fog in winter. The Nuclear Power Station is to the right; the Coal-Fired Power Station is in the middle; to the left a small wind farm. Dutch name: Kerncentrale Borssele. The power plant sits on the shore of the Westerschelde, Western Scheldt, estuary. The Western Scheldt (Dutch: Westerschelde) in the province Zeeland in the southwestern Netherlands, is the estuary of the Scheldt river (Dutch: Schelde). The Borssele Power Plant is a pressurized water reactor type (PWR). It is the only electricity producing nuclear power plant in the Netherlands. Its net output is 485 MWe (512 total). It is owned by the provincial PZE power company, who in turn is owned by Delta and Essent power companies. Essent in turn is owned by the German RWE (Rheinisch-Westfälisches Elektrizitätswerk) power company. There is an ongoing legal case whether RWE actually is allowed to own a part of the nuclear facility.
