A monumental statue of Amir Timur stands in front of the ruins of the Ak-Saray Palace. Ruins of the Ak-Saray Palace entrance portal. The Ak-Saray Palace is a historic site in Shahrisabz old town, Uzbekistan. There’s very little left of the palace except bits of the gigantic, 38m-high pishtak (entrance portal). Shakhrisabz is the birth town of Timur the Great. The Shakhrisabz town is a 2700 years old and played an important part in Uzbek history.
