The Old Town with its 15th-century medieval entrance gates and Old Harbor (Oude Haven) in Zierikzee (Zeeland), Netherlands
The medieval Noordhavenpoort (Northern Harbor Gate) is one of the only three surviving entrance gates to the city of Zierikzee. It is located at the entrance to the Old Harbor. The gate was originally built in the 14th century. The gates were later expanded, embellished and rebuilt. Its current form dates from the beginning of the 16th century. Although the Noordhavenpoort nowadays differs greatly from the Zuidhavenpoort, it was probably almost identical to it when it was first built. The Zuidhavenpoort is one of the three city gates of the city of Zierikzee, in the Dutch province of Zeeland. The Zuidhavenpoort stands at the entrance of the old city harbor next to the Noordhavenpoort. The gate was built in the 15th century. The brick gatehouse has four corner towers. The dome tower was renewed in 1858.
