A Maine. 53 Freshman History Distinctly I remember the quiet auspices under which the present FreslimanClass embarlcecl upon its Dental career. It was on a balmy evening of October that the opening addresses were deliveredby different members of our worthy Faculty. The professors and students ingeneral seemed to extend a cordial greeting to each new comer and it really madeone feel at home (especiallj^ those who had undertaken their first stupendous jour-ney on the precarious path of worldy endeavor) to be granted the privilege ofenjoying these kindly greetings which not always go hand in hand with a studentslife. The Faculty keeping one point constantly in view, namely, the students wel-fare while away from home influences and the manifold pitfalls an unsuspectingperson might fall into, were emphatically dwelt upon, I may safely say not invain. Some have learned to appreciate these facts while others perhaps havedeemed it advisable
