It feeds, at night,on cabbage, horseradish, wall-flower, white arabis, and manyother kinds of Cruciferae ; andit is said to eat the foliage ofgooseberry and currant. June—October. There are certainly twobroods, and possibly more, asthe moths occur in greater orlesser numbers throughout theyear, from late April to October,but it seems to be most plenti-ful in May and June, and inAugust and September. Generally distributed over the British Islesinhabitant of North America.
