When he wasnine years old he came with his mother and othermembers of the family to Calhoun County, family settled in Belleview Precinct and livedthere a number of years until the mother returnedto Missouri, some years ago. Mr. Sevier was bredto the life of a farmer and having a natural likingfor that calling, adopted it as his own when he ar-rived at years of discretion. He was quite welleducated in the public schools of this county, amistarted out on his career well equipped mentally.
