In addition to this, Professor Patterson gave anexhibition of electrical flash writing. By means ot an ironpoint on a metal surface the names and sentences were writ-ten in flame. Some of the exhibits, too, wereof a character that indicated that their designers had givenmuch time and thought to their origination, and severalwere remarkable on account of their uniqueness and decidednovelty. Without a doubt the western supply men haveawakened to the fact that the Northwestern association hascome to stay. The money spent and the time that wasput in on these exhibits did a great deal toward gaining theassociation the increased membership, as shown by the listof new members presented elsewhere, and will contribute tomake a much greater success of the coming semi-annualmeeting, which takes place in Chicago next summer.
