Looking NE at the C13th south transept (R) & central tower of Hexham Augustinian priory church. The nave (L) was rebuilt 1905-08 on the C13th layout. In 1113 a priory of Canons Regular of St Augustine replaced the Saxon monastery founded by St Wilfrid around 674.
