Spanish motorcycle racer Alex Criville 1999 500cc world motorcycle champion
Alex Criville always in the shadow of his repsol honda team mate Mick Doohan. Finally won the championship he wanted so badly in 1999 when Doohan had a series of accidents which ultimately led to his retirement from racing. Some would say that Alex won the 99 championship by default without Doohan racing but Criville livened up the races making hard work any rider which was behind him.
