Artistic inclination, knowledge in chemistry, physics andphys. optics, etc., are qualities a successful amateur shouldpossess if he wants to criticize an instrument, but first of allhe must have used the best instruments of the variousmakers, otherwise he has no right to defame a reliable instru- i68. ment. I personally value my small pocket instruments highly, espe-cially the smallest stereo cameras, still I would much ratherpart with the Baby Sibyl, the Vest Pocket Vesta, the ZeissBebe, the Stereflectoscope, etc., than to do without my WernerView Camera, my Minex, my Goerz Anschuetz, or Lechner9:18 Stereo Reflex. I mention the above instruments just toshow that I know what I am talking about.
