Its height, from the basement floorto the highest point of the roof, is 125 ft. The structure isdivided into two main sections: A boiler house on the south,or Fifty-Eighth Street side, and an operating house on thenorth, or Fifty-Ninth Street side, each extending the full depthof the building. On the Eleventh Avenue end is extended a track connectedwith the main line of the New York Central Railroad, and thisis used in bringing machinery and materials into the , however, is conveyed into the building with a belt con-veyor. This conveyor extends to a pier in the North River, atthe foot of West Fifty-Eighth Street, 700 ft. in length.
