Gentoo penguins (Pygoscelis papua) perched on an ice floe. The gentoo penguin feeds mainly on krill, but is opportunistic and will feed on many species of fish. It inhabits the Antarctic, Antarctic islands and the Falkland Islands. Gentoos are the fastest underwater swimmers of all the penguins. They can reach speeds up to 36 kilometres per hour.
