Jack the Ripper Museum, 12 Cable Street, London, E1 8JG, UK. 4th August, 2015. Local residents together with backing from the Emily Wilding Davison Memorial Campaign and other interested groups, stage a protest outside the Jack the Ripper Museum on Cable Street in East London. The demonstration coincided with the opening night of the new venue which was originally proposed as a museum celebrating women's history. The protesters claim the museum dedicated to the infamous murderer of prostitutes denigrates the history of struggle for women's rights, a struggle that was particularly vibrant and pioneering in East London.
