While it istrue the taste did not betray the length of time that themilk had been kept, it can be easily seen that certainchemical changes will develop, altering the character ofthe food. It is my belief, founded on extensive experience, thatsterilized milk, continually fed, to the exclusion of rawmilk and raw beef-juice, will ultimately result in rachitisor scurvy. CHAPTEK XXVII.
