Senso-ji (oKinryu-zan Senso-ji), Buddhist temple, in Asakusa, Tokyo, Japan. It is Tokyo's oldest temple, and one of its most significant. Formerly associated with the Tendai sect of Buddhism, it became independent after World War II.
