Tech. Sgt. Mike Schmaus, bassist and music director for the Heartland of America Band’s “Raptor” ensemble, plays the standup bass while performing at the “Celebration of Freedom” concert held July 3 at the Sumter Amphitheater in Papillion, Nebraska. The Heartland of America Band from Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska put on the free concert to promote patriotism and connect community members with members of the Air Force.
