Light micrograph of a human pineal gland from necropsy fixed in Bouin solution. The better quality of fixation compared to the usual formaldehyde, results in a much more compact appearance of the pineal parenchyma and also of the stroma of the connective tissue septa. This is an adult gland that shows a clear lobulation.
