NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - (Nov. 16, 2016) Petty Officer 2nd Class Michael Lindsay, acting as a fire party attack team leader, addresses two Sailors during a general quarters drill aboard Pre-Commissioning Unit Gerald R. Ford (CVN 78). Fire parties often use hand signals to communicate, as the fire gear can muffle voices. Ford is currently conducting a simulated underway designed to prepare the crew for life at sea and create an operational mindset.
