At this point the Huddersfield Canal crosses the river Tame by the Saddleworth Aqueduct (known as "Old Sag" because of a noticeable droop in the arch below), while above the railway crosses on the Saddleworth Viaduct. Just beyond the aqueduct is Lime Kiln Lock (Lock 23W).
