Together with accurate descriptions of all state, territorial, foreign, departmental and other buildings and exhibits, and general information concerning the fair. e, the workings of the several great departments, respectively, having charge of theparticular subject, or subjects, with reference to which each such committee was created; andfrom time to time to make reports and recommendations respecting the same, either to the Boardof Reference and Control, the Executive Committee, or to the Commission. On Awards.—Appointed by the President, consisting of twelve Commissioners; author-ized to meet at the call of the Chairman, and have charge of the subject of awards, and who, inconnection with the Director-General, select and appoint the Board of Judges, subject to theapproval of the Commission. Said Committee is empowered to employ a secretary at a salarynot to exceed 85,000 per annum.
