Kees was married on the :!lst of October, 1900, toMiss Koehler, of HENRY C. KEES. EDMI^XD K. was born in Hanover, Morrisflounty. X. J., in is;>(i. He is the son of Isaac Halsey, Jr.,born in Xew York in 1801, and Harriet Raymond; a grand-son of Isaac Halsey, 8r., horn in Xew York, An^nst 31,1765, who removed to East Newark, N. J., and ])nr(diase(lwliat has since been known as the Halsey homestead; anda yrandson of Eiilui Halsey. who was left an orphan at theage of four years. The children of Isaac Halsey, Sr., wereAbraham, Isaac, Jr., Jacob, John, Elizabeth, and Halsey, Jr., moved to Hanover, Morris County, in1831, and later removed to Newark, where he enpajied inthe coal business. He retired in 1859, returned to Madison, 520 THE PASSAIC VALLEY and died December 27, 1894.
