No. 97 KOUBATCHA FAIENCE DEEP DISH (Sixteenth Century) Diameter, 14 inches Circular shape, with scalloped edge. Invested with a green blueglaze and decorated, in black, as to the interior, with a medallionof two fish surrounded by a quatrefoil border. Decorated in colored enamels, as to the center,with a medallion formed of four blossoms with pointed leaves andfour palmettes springing from a quatrefoiled square. The bor-der, with panels of white reserve, occupied with floral sprays ona ground of deep blue. No. 99 (Sixteenth Century) KOUBATCHA FAIENCE PLATE Diameter, 15y2 inches Circular shape, with flat rim. Invested with a crackled cream-colored glaze and decorated, as to the center, with a design ofcurving pointed leaves in white reserve outlined in manganesewith flowers in white reserve outlined in black. Surrounded bya border of eight panels containing flower forms in blue, man-ganese and light brown. First
