Splendidly shaped buds, opening to well- formed, large, double flowers of crisp, glistening rose-pink with silvery suffusion at the base of the petals, sweetlj' scented. At the International Rose Test Garden, at Portland, Oregon, this variety was awarded the Silver Medal of the American Rose Society, the Gold Medal of the city of Portland, for the best bush Rose shown and the Silver Trophy of the Portland Chamber of Commerce for the best Rose produced on the Pacific Coast in 1923. each. Josephine Thomas. The eminent Rosarian, Captain George C. Thomas, selected this promising variety from a number of Howard & Smith's seedlings to name after his daughter. It is a variety of strong, vigorous habit and produces its flowers on fine long stems. These are of a light orange salmon at the centre, the outer petals gradually shading to a cream-flesh, docs not fade or discolor and always carries a high ix>inted centre of smaller petals.
