The illus-tration gives a good idea of the habit of growth, but fails to convey anyLdequate impression of the great beauty of the grand spikes of flowers are a lovely crimson rose and the spikes are 15 to 18 incheslong, by from Vz to 1 inch in breadth. Each plant bears from ten to fifteenspikes of flowers.
