Light microscopy of white matter of the brain. White matter is comprised of myelinated nerves seen here as many axons with myelin sheaths. Occasional blood vessels are seen. Cell nuclei between the many axons are mostly oligodendrocytes (produce myelin in the central nervous system) the larger cell nuclei are neuron cell bodies. Magnification x 300 when printed at 10cm.
