Army Garrison Japan hosted an Independence Day/Salute to the Nation open post event on July 2, 2022, at Camp Zama, Japan. More than 25,000 community residents and guests enjoyed the day of food, fun and musical performances. As the finale of the celebration, Army Japan and Japan Ground Self-Defense Force musicians performed a joint concert in conjunction with the fireworks display.
