The temperature record for thermometer 23 shows that the corn at the' surface near the en- gine room bulkhead increased 27° F. and had a temperature of 80° F. at the end of the voyage, while the temperature of the corn at the same height in the after part of the hold was the same when discharged as when loaded, as shown by the tempera- ture record for ther- mometer24.
