A most striking contrast to this terrible incident will be foundin the following case, when, thanks to the ability and firmness ofDr. Dolan, of Halifax, I was able to save a valuable life:— Late on the evening of February 16th I received a telegram 456 ILLUSTEATIVE CASES. from Dr. Dolan, of Halifax, to proceed at once to that town tooperate upon a case which he believed to be one of ruptured tubalpregnancy. The following is the account which Dr. Dolan hasgiven me :— P. W., aged twenty-nine, married, four childrenliving, youngest two years old, had a miscarriage nine months ago,has always been regular but missed the last period.
