Mount Etna on the east coast of Sicily is the tallest active volcano on the European continent and around 3300 meters high. At the edge of the African and Eurasian plate the stratovolcano is one of the most active volcanoes in the world and almost constantly active. This lava flow came down in 1987. Der rund 3300 Meter hohe Ätna an der Ostküste Siziliens ist der höchste Vulkan Europoas. An der Grenze zwischen der afrikanischen und der eurasischen Platte ist dieser Stratovulkan einer der aktivsten Vulkane der Welt und gilt praktisch immer als aktiv. 1987 verschüttete dieser Lavastrom ein Haus an den Hängen des Vulkans.
